Birds of Prey and Terrestrial Birds

Soysambu has a significant population of terrestrial birds – Eagles, Vultures,  Owls, Falcons, Harriers, Sparrow hawks, Goshawks, Buzzards, Kites, Falcons, Kestrals, Rollers, Secretary birds, Ground Hornbills, Guinea Fowl and Francolins, just to mention a few.

The Birds of Prey are significant in preventing the spread of disease by “cleaning up” carcasses, while Terrestrial birds feed on ticks reducing Lyme disease.
